FAQs: bookings and fares
We do not issue invoices. However, if you require an invoice for business or private purposes, we can send you a new booking confirmation free of charge up to 100 days after the ticket/document has been fully used. After this 100-day period, we charge a fee of CHF 30 for each confirmation (up to a maximum of five e-ticket confirmations).
Please note that you can use the e-ticket for invoicing purposes. It is an internationally recognised receipt and can be submitted for the purposes of claiming expenses and your tax return.
Please also note that VAT is not charged on international flights. A relevant tax rate may therefore not be quoted in the confirmation.
You do not need to reconfirm your SWISS flights.
You do not need to provide any information about yourself or payment methods to check the availability or fare of your flight. Payment is only made as the last step in the booking process after you have entered your personal data.
The specific price categories in the different service classes are indicated by the letters B, E, G, H, K, L, M, Q, S, T, U, V, W and Y (Economy Class), G, E, N and R (Premium Economy) C, D, J, P and Z (Business Class) and A and F (First Class). They show the amount of mileage credit our Miles & More members can expect to receive, for example. Letters are also used as abbreviations for the chosen fare on which the individual fare conditions are based.
The fare conditions for your chosen fare are displayed during the booking process. They show the level of flexibility in relation to rebooking or cancellation. We therefore recommend that you make a note of these. The fare conditions are defined using the English terms.
- “Cancellation”
- “Rebooking”
The possible conditions for these are:
- “not permitted”
- “permitted”
Your SWISS Service Centre will be happy to provide you with the specific fare conditions for your flight.
Your first and middle names are stored without spaces by the system. This is not a mistake and does not affect your booking.
