Tarmac Delay Contingency Plan

SWISS Tarmac Delay Contingency Plan In Mainland China

It is SWISS’s aim to make every flight a safe and pleasant experience and further enhance customer comfort on the ground and in the air.  SWISS’s Contingency Plan for Lengthy Tarmac Delays (“Contingency Plan”) is another step to reach this goal.

This procedure applies to all SWISS operating flights departing from Mainland China.

When a SWISS operating flight is delay or in irregular situation stipulated under Flight Regularity Administrative Regulations (Ministry of Transport 2016 #56), SWISS will provide additional service to the passengers.

The additional service includes provision of appropriate refreshment subject to the length of the waiting time. In case the provision of the additional services will lead to further delay to your flight, SWISS may consider skipping the services to minimize the delay.

In the event of flight delay, we will provide the latest information every 30 minutes in the form of boarding gate announcement and notice bulletin; if delay occurs after boarding, such information will be provided through cabin announcements.

If a tarmac flight delay is exceeding 3 hours (including 3 hours) and there is no definite take-off time, we will arrange for disembarkation as long as safety and security situation permit.

SWISS shall follow Flight Regularity Administrative Regulations (Ministry of Transport 2016 #56) to carry out handling under irregularities.
