Our focus is on supporting youth, education, integration, and empowerment, with the goal of making a lasting difference in the communities we serve. 

Focus Project

For over 20 years, our passengers have played a vital role in supporting social causes through our onboard coin collection. We're proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to continuing this journey - with the support of our customers and employees - to make an even bigger impact. 

In 2025, SWISS, SOS Children’s Villages and Lufthansa’s aid organization, help alliance, launched a joint initiative called “Wings of Tomorrow” to sustainably improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in South Africa. Passenger donations collected on board of SWISS aircraft support the initiative. The "Wings of Tomorrow" project is designed to create lasting improvements in the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Ennerdale and Cape Town through targeted support, including: 

  • Providing school supplies, mandatory uniforms, and safe transportation to school. 
  • Organizing workshops and mentorship programs to equip young people with the skills needed to succeed in South Africa’s challenging job market. 
  • Ensuring access to clean drinking water in local communities and installing solar-powered lighting so students can study in the evenings. 

Through this initiative, SWISS, SOS Children’s Villages and help alliance are committed to giving young people in South Africa the tools and opportunities they need for a brighter future.

Founded in 1999 by Lufthansa Group employees, help alliance – since 2017 as a non-profit limited liability company under the umbrella of the Lufthansa Group – is engaged worldwide in giving young people access to education and enabling them to lead a self-determined life. Together with their volunteer project coordinators and supporters they are committed to a self-determined future for disadvantaged people.

SOS Children’s Villages is the world’s largest organization focused on ensuring that children and young people without parental care or at risk of losing it grow up with the care, relationships and support they need to become their strongest selves.

Sternschnuppe

SWISS supports the Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe Foundation in fulfilling the wishes of children with an illness or disability. The Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Lausanne and Zurich that is active across Switzerland. For 30 years it has been bringing joy and variety to children and young people who live with an illness, disability or the results of a debilitating accident by fulfilling their wishes.

SWISS Children’s Foundation

The SWISS Children’s Foundation is an independent SWISS foundation in which SWISS employees volunteer for disadvantaged children. The Foundation primarily works together with SOS Children’s Villages, the children's aid organisation, and annually finances the living expenses of numerous SOS Children’s Villages families. Various humanitarian projects are also supported. A voluntary wage deduction from employees, direct support from SWISS and one-off donations enables the support of the SWISS Children’s Foundation.
