Dear media creators

Are you planning to carry out filming, photo shoots or audio recordings relating to SWISS on board one of our aircraft (in the air or on the ground) or at an airport? We request that you use the form below to apply for permission for the filming/recording in good time so that we can assist you as far as possible. Applications are processed during office hours and require at least five working days’ notice. Note that separate authorisation must be obtained from the appropriate authorities for filming/recording at airports.

This permission is granted solely for obtaining and using the filming/recording described and for the purpose stated above. Any additional use of the material – in particular sharing the material with third parties – is only permitted with the express consent of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). It is prohibited to make any use of this material (including image material provided by SWISS) in such a way that might falsify its contents or context.

  • If passengers feel disturbed by the activities stated above, SWISS can order that they be temporarily suspended or permanently terminated. Instructions given by the first officer and the entire cabin crew must be followed at all times.
  • Third parties have the right to determine whether their image may be used and may only appear in films or photographs with their express consent.
  • The same obligation to fasten seatbelts applies to the film/photo/audio team as to all other passengers. The cabin crew’s instructions must be followed at all times.

Safety regulations for technical equipment on board

The following safety regulations must be observed when using technical equipment on board (video cameras, lighting and audio recording devices etc.):

  • Technical devices may only be connected to the electricity supply and transmitters of any kind may only be used after their electromagnetic effects have been carefully examined by SWISS Technical Services and only with their permission.
  • Any devices that give the impression that they are impairing the performance of aircraft systems and/or equipment must be switched off immediately at the request of the cabin crew.
  • Cables, devices or peripheral equipment (e.g. lamps) must not be positioned at any time in such a way that they block or obstruct access to the emergency exits and evacuation routes.
  • All equipment must be stowed away securely on take-off and landing.
  • Filming and photography must not be carried out during take-off and landing, unless SWISS has taken separate safety precautions for this beforehand.
  • All battery-operated devices must be operated using gas-tight batteries.
  • The regulations for the carriage of lithium ion batteries in the cabin and in baggage must be complied with.
  • Do not leave any materials or technical devices behind; collect up all materials used and listed in the attached material list before you leave the aircraft.

Liability provisions

  • The film/photo/audio team is liable for any damage caused by its activities.
  • The film/photo/audio team cannot make SWISS, its employees or contractors liable, unless wilful intent or gross negligence is present, or unless this is provided for in the terms and conditions of carriage.
  • The production company/broadcaster is liable for any infringements of rights resulting from the use or transfer of material obtained from SWISS and shall indemnify SWISS from any third-party claims in this regard.
  • The restrictions on the use of transmitters and receivers on board an aircraft must be complied with. The approval of SWISS Technical Services must be obtained for the use of such devices.
