SWISS moves into London Heathrow’s rebuilt Terminal 2
SWISS switched all its ground operations at London Heathrow Airport to the rebuilt Terminal 2 – also known as The Queen’s Terminal – today. SWISS joins its Star Alliance partners in the new terminal, offering customers on all 23 member airlines quicker and more convenient connections within the same terminal facility.
SWISS formally moved into the recently reopened Terminal 2 at London’s Heathrow Airport this morning. In doing so, SWISS joins its 22 fellow Star Alliance member airlines in the totally rebuilt facility, which is also known as The Queen’s Terminal in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
The new terminal with its strikingly airy design offers SWISS travellers a state-of-the-art airport infrastructure that permits a smooth and seamless air travel experience both after arrival and prior to departure. It also boasts a minimum intra-terminal connecting time of just 60 minutes (instead of the previous 75), enabling travellers to transfer faster than ever to and from the connecting flights of other Star Alliance carriers.
The Lufthansa Group zone within the new terminal – Zone B – features staffed check-in desks for SWISS First and SWISS Business customers, along with self-check-in machines and bag-drop desks for SWISS Economy travellers. SWISS customers will also appreciate the shorter distances between the check-in zone and the terminal’s wide range of shops, restaurants and bars.
SWISS First and SWISS Business travellers, HON Circle Members, Senators, Star Gold Members and Frequent Travellers also have access to the new Lufthansa Lounge, which offers 1,600 square metres of work, rest and relaxation facilities.
SWISS offers seven daily services between Zurich and London Heathrow, along with five daily Geneva-Heathrow flights.
