Wi-Fi voucher
If you wish to switch between devices with the purchase of just one package, you will have to create a user profile. To use the Internet service on one single device, a profile is not needed.
Should there be any issues with the Wi-Fi service, you have the possibility to apply for a refund. This process is handled by our provider Panasonic. You can find the email address to apply for a refund on your receipt.
Currently, no registration is required. After an initial phase, you will have to register for and sign-in with your Travel ID to use the Wi-Fi services.
The connection speed is comparable with the speed of public WLAN connections on the ground. You can surf on the internet, stay in touch with friends on social media or consult your emails. We do not recommend you use voice services or streaming.
Although we do not restrict the use of streaming and voice services, we do not recommend that you use these due to the high volume of data transfer and the possible impact this may have on the user experience of other passengers.
Every device with a Wi-Fi function, e.g. laptops, tablets or smartphones, can be connected to the internet using SWISS Connect.
You cannot use one SWISS Connect profile to connect to the internet with two end devices. Two end devices can be used one after the other, as long as you disconnect from your user profile on the one device before logging on with the second device.
The system supports all major VPN applications. However, the support depends on the configuration of your company. SWISS Connect uses the standard TCP/IP internet connection. Should you encounter any problems with your VPN connection, please contact your company's IT support.
Authentication between your end device and the Panasonic purchasing pages is secured with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This ensures that data cannot be intercepted or manipulated by a third party. However, the service is provided via a public Wi-Fi and no public Wi-Fi is 100% secure.
In the same way as you would protect yourself when using internet on the ground, SWISS Connect users must take their own measures to protect themselves (e.g. by using security software). SWISS Connect uses the standard 802.11b/g Wireless Protocol to provide secure internet access. However, the service is provided via a public Wi-Fi and no public Wi-Fi is 100% secure.
