You can check in online from 23 hours before departure. Have your booking reference or e-ticket number ready.
For safety reasons, airlines are obliged to provide the US authorities with every passenger’s personal information before departure. This is done using the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS). The transferred API details are deleted after 24 hours.
We recommend that you provide this additional information as early as possible via swiss.com/api, or during online check-in.
You have the following check-in options for your flight:
We will inform you exactly which check-in options are available for your flight during the booking process.
- Enter swiss.com in the web browser of your mobile phone.
- Click on Check-in.
- Identify yourself with your first and last names and your reservation number.
- Choose your seat.
We will send you a link to your boarding pass by SMS or e-mail.
Web and mobile check-in are possible from 23 hours to 1 hour before departure. The latest check-in times at the airport vary depending on the destination.
If you are unable to print your boarding pass, you can pick one up either at the check-in machine or the check-in desk at the airport. Please observe the check-in times.
If you have forgotten your boarding pass then you can have a new one printed, either at the check-in machine or at the check-in desk at the airport within the specified check-in time.
If you decide on automated check-in during the booking process on swiss.com, you will be automatically checked in approximately 20 hours before departure. We will then send your boarding pass to you by e-mail.
This service is available exclusively for bookings through swiss.com. You can select automated check-in when you enter your passenger details during the booking process on swiss.com.
If you have not received a boarding pass or notification by e-mail 19 hours before departure, try checking your spam folder. If the message really has gone astray, we suggest you either use online check-in or check in at the airport.
We will send you all the boarding passes for the entire journey by e-mail or SMS.
If you have already checked in and are travelling without baggage, you must be at the departure gate no later than the boarding time stated on your boarding pass. If you do not have a boarding pass, please note the latest check-in times for your departure airport.
