In a record-breaking achievement, Swiss WorldCargo has brought magic to the streets of New York. Between October and December 2023, the airfreight division of SWISS transported a total of 233,115 kilograms of chestnuts (for the first time ever such a significant total amount) from Italy to New York via Zurich on several flights. Mobile, steaming chestnut ovens can be found on many corners in New York City and are an important part of the pre-holidays’ festivities in the Big Apple. These deliveries from Europe were therefore very valuable for the local vendors.

After a careful quality check of the chestnuts, they were packed into bags and secured on several pallets for transport. After flying smoothly over many decorated trees, chimneys, and festive lights in several countries, the chestnuts landed safely at JFK airport and were delivered to the numerous stand vendors, where they were roasted on their ovens and sold. The culinary speciality with its unmistakable aroma not only satisfies hunger, but also warms from the inside and puts a smile on people’s faces.

Preserving and guaranteeing the quality and integrity of every good transported by Swiss WorldCargo also means protecting the associated values and emotions that these shipments bring to people and communities around the globe.
