We at SWISS take the Christmas season seriously: we've already had a dozen elves and even Santa Claus on board. When it gets dark outside faster, our SWISS red seems to glow even more intensely and our popular chocolate tastes even sweeter. But what if our little chocolate bars had a special Christmas flavor?
That's how the special edition of our dark chocolate was born. During the Advent season, guests on all short and long-haul flights can enjoy the dark chocolate with a subtle orange flavor. If you are lucky, you will find one of the limited golden tickets in the chocolate packaging, which will be distributed on selected flights during the four days of Advent.
Anyone who finds a golden ticket will win a surprise box of Frey chocolate and other surprise SWISS products. This person will also be entered into the main prize draw to win an exclusive tour of the Delica chocolate production facility in Buchs AG.
Where SWISS chocolate is made: an on-site inspection
The canton of Aargau smells of chocolate. At least when you enter the Delica building in Buchs. This is where Frey chocolate is made. With every step towards production, the warm, sweet and intense aroma of chocolate becomes stronger. Only after the hygiene procedure are we allowed to enter the room where the magic happens. The machines clack and move in a regular rhythm. The cocoa mass – with sugar, milk powder or additional cocoa butter, depending on the recipe – is first mixed and poured. This produces individual pieces of chocolate, which the conveyor belt carries to the next of the many machines required for chocolate production.
A precise choreography of machine speed and human care unfolds before our eyes: every millisecond, each piece is mechanically wrapped in a long film, individually separated and packed into a box by hand. Chocolate is created in synergy between man and machine.
A matter of taste
The dark Christmas chocolate from SWISS surprises and impresses with a subtle orange flavor and a slight crunchiness. This is thanks to the orange granules, which perfectly combine the flavorful freshness with the exciting texture and thus ensure a harmonious indulgence experience. The product team tested various Christmas flavors with Delica – including cinnamon – before achieving this fine result.
After several internal tastings, the variant with the subtle, Christmassy orange flavor came out on top. The golden ticket promotion gives this unique offer a playful touch and ensures an unforgettable experience – all in the spirit of the festive season. We wish all our guests a Merry Christmas, good luck unwrapping the chocolate and even more enjoyment when tasting the new bars.
