Bivio has also demonstrated in its application in connection with the SWISS 20th Anniversary Aircraft Naming Competition that it can combine an incomparable sense of home with cosmopolitanism and a spirit of innovation, without neglecting the importance of the natural environment that surrounds it. In the course of 2023, a SWISS Airbus A220 will be christened with the name "Val Surses", carrying the bivian sense of home out into the world.
Whether in the cozy and warm Cinema Stalla at minus 10 degrees outside temperature, with a cup of coffee in the roastery at 1769 meters above sea level, at the cheerful get-together at the local open air or at the individual child care at the Biviolino Kids Club: Bivio creates new, unique places of encounter that are worth taking a closer look at.
Cinema Stalla
What started out as a school project has long since become an integral part of Bivio's cultural life and offers a special highlight for film enthusiasts during the winter months. The charming, homely furnished cinema in a, as the name suggests, former stable offers a selection of carefully chosen films for young and old. "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella" as an absolute classic of the winter season belongs on their screen as well as socially critical, modern niche productions. For an all-round feel-good package, there is a popcorn machine, bar and comfortable cinema seats, lovingly looked after by local helpers. It's worth taking a look at the program.
Bivio Coffee
Another special feature that Bivio has to offer is Europe's highest roastery at 1,768 meters above sea level. What was literally born as a schnapps idea in one long night now creates year-round jobs for the village and delivers the finest coffee in 100% ecological packaging right to your doorstep. The former post office in Bivio has become the birthplace of a young company that enjoys renown far beyond the borders of the village. Nevertheless, there is a strong sense of local connection here - this is evident in the painted Bivio wall at the valley station and the personal roots of the founders with the village, the mountain air and Bivio's stirrup lift.
Bivio Openair
This year, the Ela Nature Park will once again be the home of a musical spectacle, accompanied by a unique mountain panorama and warm summer nights. The natural ambience makes the festival an absolute highlight for local artists and internationally renowned musicians as well as visitors. In addition to a wide range of music genres from hip-hop and indie pop to alternative and electronic music, the festival also offers a cosy get-together in nature. Culinary delights during dance breaks, yoga classes in nature and cacao dance ceremonies in the tepee will make you aware of the wonderful resources of the surrounding landscape. For tired legs, the idyllic outdoor campsite offers a relaxing retreat with everything a camper's heart desires.
Biviolino Kids Club
The former village shop now serves the little ones in Bivio. The Biviolino Kids Club offers individual childcare during the day and two evenings a week. So parents can enjoy the extensive ski area, picturesque hiking trails or a dinner for two in peace, while the little ones are offered a varied programme. Adventurous excursions into the nearby nature or fun and games in the generously equipped Kids Club ensure that children's eyes light up and parents who are stressed by everyday life find relaxation.
And if you still haven't had enough of Bivio, you can marvel further at Val Surses in their application video for the SWISS aircraft christening competition.
