Hongkong Vibes

Welcome to Hong Kong! The vibrant metropolis and special administrative region on the south coast of China combines the best of tradition and modernity. Hong Kong literally means 'fragrant harbour' - and for good reason. With breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour and the skyline, the world's tallest skyscrapers, ancient temples, exquisite cuisine and bustling markets, Hong Kong offers travellers a wealth of experiences. We took a short trip to this fascinating city.

Sleep with a view

Mandarin Oriental and The Harbourview

What better way to immerse yourself in a city than to arrive to a breathtaking view of the Hong Kong skyline and Victoria Harbour? The luxurious Mandarin Oriental caters to every need, with first-class service, a choice of nine (!) different restaurants and bars, and an excellent spa. As an alternative, the more affordable but equally modern The Harbourview offers excellent views and is the ideal base for excursions.

Art to marvel at

Museum of Art and Tai Kwun

Discover Hong Kong's rich cultural history at the Museum of Art, home to a collection of Chinese art and works by international artists. For a glimpse of the younger art scene, head to Tai Kwun, a revitalised cultural centre in a former prison complex.

A view worth a thousand words

The Peak

The mountains of Hong Kong Island are not just for hikers. A visit to Victoria Peak, colloquially known as The Peak, is a must for any visitor to Hong Kong. Take the historic Peak Tram to the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the skyline, islands and harbour from the viewing platform.

Foodie paradise

Café South Lane, Din Tai Fung, Duddell’s, Zuma und Nobu

What better way to discover a destination than through your taste buds? Start your culinary journey with a sweet or savoury snack at Café South Lane. Try the famous steamed dumplings at Din Tai Fung, then be enchanted by the artistic Cantonese cuisine at Duddell's in the evening. Fans of Japanese cuisine can indulge themselves at Nobu or Zuma.

See Hong Kong's skyline from the water by taking the Star Ferry from Victoria Harbour to Hong Kong Island. This "floating landmark of Hong Kong" has been operating between the southern tip of the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island for over 120 years. Especially spectacular at night!
