Swiss Marco Lehmann discovered his love of Ibiza when he was a passionate partygoer. Today he is a completely different person: relaxed, down to earth, and authentic. He enjoys spending time with his family and coaches people who are looking to find themselves and lead a fulfilling life. His love of the Balearic island has remained to this day, and Marco now spends around a quarter of the year in Ibiza, where he also offers multi-day retreats in the island’s beautiful natural surroundings. SWISS Magazine had the pleasure of accompanying him to his ten favourite places on the island.
#1 Cotton Beach Club
In an absolute top location above the bay of Cala Tarida, you can enjoy champagne and oysters at sunset on elegantly set tables and in the charming company of VIP host Ulises (actually Ueli Braun, a Swiss expatriate who has lived in Ibiza for 40 years). The sea bass in salt crust and the delicious tuna tartare with wasabi ice cream also taste fabulous! cottonbeachclub.com
#2 S’Escalinata
We challenge you to simply walk by without going in: At the modest-sized Plaça del Sol in the heart of Ibiza’s Old Town overlooking the harbour, we find S’Escalinata. Colourful beanbags and small tables adorn the cobbled stairs, laughter and good music invite you to linger: The trendy bar serves original cocktails – with straws made of agave instead of plastic! – as well as homemade tapas.
#3 Cala Bassa
It is probably no secret anymore, but with its crystal-clear waters and white sandy beach, this picturesque little swimming bay in the north-west of the island is always worth a visit. Behind the beach chairs and beneath palm trees and pines, you’ll find several restaurants and small shops offering jewellery, beach towels, and other attractive accessories.
#4 Zurück zu dir – Retreat
In the most peaceful spot on the island, right next to the energy place Es Vedra, success coach Marco Lehmann offers seminars that, far away from everyday life and free from all the usual influences, allow you to experience inner peace and, above all, to return to yourself. This adventure opens up new horizons to anyone willing to try it. zurückzudir.ch
#5 Hippy Market
Flower children and free spirits are still drawn to Ibiza today. The Punta Arabí hippie market has been around since 1973. Every Wednesday, merchants at more than 500 stalls sell colourful hippie dresses, batik scarves, dreamcatchers, jewellery, handicrafts, and all sorts of knick-knacks. There are also bars to enjoy a break and a crafts corner for kids.
