Crew Tip: "San Francisco is art itself"

In our section "Crew Tips", a SWISS crew member reveals his or her favourite places in a SWISS destination. Find out first-hand where our crews like to eat, shop and enjoy the best views. This time, First Officer Kevin has fallen for the artistic city San Francisco and tells us what makes it so unique.

Kevin: "If you’re going to … San Francisco. Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair!"
SFO, as we call it, is my favourite destination in the SWISS network because there are so many things to do all year round: Rent a bike, go hiking, visit the famous Alcatraz Island - I never get tired of this city.

Delicious Food

Piazza Pellegrini

Piazza Pellegrini. Italian cuisine located in Little Italy. You can easily walk from Fisherman’s Wharf or from Downtown through Chinatown. Try the Fettuccine ai Gamberoni, they are delicious! If you stop here for lunch, you will enjoy your meal on the sunny patio with the stunning view on the Saints Peter and Paul Church.

Amazing Views

Alamere Falls

Alamere Falls at Point Reyes National Seashore. A waterfall that cascades into the Pacific Ocean. You can reach it by car and start your hike from the Palomarin Trailhead, which passes Bass Lake. Definitely worth a visit. Take a deep breath once you arrive at the beach and enjoy the fresh breeze. One of my favourite hikes in California.
