Advance seat reservations

You can select your seat while booking your flight on swiss.com.

You can reserve your seat for a fee via your personal profile up to 2 hours before departure.

You can also select a seat during online check-in.

You will be allocated a seat automatically during online check-in if you did not choose your seat in advance. You can change it for a fee depending on the fare and seat category selected.  This fee is not payable by passengers who booked a seat in advance if the new seat selection is in the same or a lower seat category.

You have the right to a complimentary advance seat reservation according to the regulations of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) on flights from and to Italy if you meet the following criteria: you are travelling with a child between 2 and 12 years of age and/or you are a passenger who has a disability or are accompanying someone who does. The Lufthansa Group will ensure you get a complimentary seat next to one another at check-in.

HON Circle Members and Senators have the option of reserving their preferred seats free of charge for themselves and those travelling with them on the same booking number on flights with SWISS, Edelweiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa. This benefit is subject to availability and does not apply to Economy Light fare bookings on short-haul flights. With the Economy Light fare, the option of selecting passenger seats free of charge is only available on short-haul routes to HON Circle Members during online check-in.

Flights operated by Edelweiss with flight numbers between LX8000 and LX8999 are not included.

If you require an additional seat for physical reasons or would simply like more room, you can book an additional passenger seat next to you on all SWISS flights by contacting our Service Centre. This way you can avoid being denied carriage in the event of the flight being fully booked.
