Frequently asked questions: A la carte dining
On all long-haul flights in SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy, from Zurich or Geneva. Flights to Dubai, Cairo, Muscat, Tel Aviv and Shanghai are excluded.
A la carte dining can be booked up to 24 hours before departure.
Wine can only be booked in conjunction with A la carte dining.
Only a limited number of A la carte dining meals can be booked on a flight. If the option is unavailable, the service will be blocked out on swiss.com.
It is not possible to cancel this option or be refunded for it later.
Provided the new flight offers à la carte dining, the booked service will be included in the change. However, a booking for à la carte dining can only be changed through the Service Center.
A la carte dining without wine is available for children. We do not offer A la carte dining for infants.
A la carte dining is offered with the service after departure, to replace the first regular service. The second service before landing consists of the regular service.
A la carte dining can only be ordered as offered. It is not possible to make any adjustments to the meal.
SWISS will try to change your à la carte dining to your new flight. If this is not possible, the meal will be refunded in full. If the refund is not made automatically within 2 weeks after the event, please contact our Refunds Department by phone on +41 61 582 3654 between 9:00 and 12:00 hrs, Mon-Tue/Thu-Fri.
Basically no, but in the event of any ingredients being unavailable, it is possible that we might have to make substitutes for individual menu components in exceptional cases. It is also possible that the served dishes may vary slightly from those illustrated.
You are welcome to add a special meal (e.g. vegetarian) to your booking. If you wish to add à la carte dining to a flight, that flight's à la carte options will be served. On all other flights, the special meal of your choice will be served.
