Rules on flights operated by other airlines
The following rule applies to flight tickets including flights with airlines other than SWISS in accordance with IATA Resolution 302:
As a general rule the above free baggage allowances apply if SWISS markets the geographically longest or most significant section of the journey (LX flight number). If this most significant section of the route is marketed by another airline, that airline’s baggage provisions (allowances and charges) may also apply to SWISS flights or SWISS flight numbers. In addition, the free baggage allowance may change if you interrupt your trip or if you have separate flight tickets for one journey.
Your applicable free baggage allowance is shown on your e-ticket.
Exception for flight tickets where the origin or destination (furthest point) is in the USA or Canada: under consumer protection law in the USA, the free baggage allowances and fees of the first carrier on interline flights or those of the first marketing carrier on codeshare flights apply to all subsequent flights in the itinerary on journeys involving more than one airline.
You can find information about this on your e-ticket or contact our Service Centre.
