Employer responsibility
SWISS is committed to its responsibility as an employer and ensures progressive working conditions and an appealing working environment for its employees.
Occupational health management
A healthy and motivated workforce is essential for the success of a company. This is why SWISS provides holistic occupational health management. Specialists from various areas within the company continuously work together to further develop the existing processes and offers. Preventive measures, regarding both personal health and occupational safety, are deemed as important as comprehensive support when someone is sick or has an accident.
The medical service manages occupational and aviation-related medical issues. The workforce also has access to an internal psychological counselling centre, operational case management and further health-related offerings.
Social partnership
SWISS employees are organised in five different trade unions. We strive for constant dialogue with all the employee organisations. SWISS has also created, together with the Staff Council (PEKO), an additional internal committee that represents employee interests in areas that are not regulated by the Collective Working Agreement (GAV). The members consist of ground staff from all areas who are voted into office by their colleagues for a term of four years each.
Equal opportunities
Our team is as diverse as our customer base. We see diversity as a crucial prerequisite to remaining innovative and flexible to change. We strive to ensure that every employee has a fair chance to fully develop their talent and potential in order to make a personal contribution to the company’s success. Equal pay is regularly accessed using the Logib-D check of the Federal Office for Gender Equality. Attractive part-time and job sharing possibilities, flexible working hours and home office options for ground staff as well as potential unpaid leave all meet various employee needs.
Fringe benefits
SWISS offers its employees many appealing fringe benefits. This includes special flight conditions, operating the complimentary Staff Travel travel agency, reductions on public transport, unique promotions for insurance and banking as well as specially negotiated discounts on selected products and services. SWISS also supports the SWISS employee sport and leisure clubs. Parents also benefit from special rates at the Strampolino day care centre in Kloten. The Strampolino centre offers a comprehensive childcare concept with flexible childcare times, including nights and weekends, that are beneficial to all employees in shift and flight operations.
Dialogue platforms
SWISS is and wants to continue to be an attractive employer in the future. This requires a focus on job security and employee satisfaction in various matters. SWISS conducts an employee survey every two years to check on the satisfaction and concerns of its employees. The results are shared with top management and employees and processed for HR strategy development. All employees also have access to various dialogue platforms, from networking and after work events to regular discussion forums with management.
