Special aircraft liveries: We colour the skies

Over the past 20 years, SWISS has surprised its customers time and again with aircraft that were allowed to glide through the air for a while with a special livery on various occations. This has been a source of enthusiasm among aviation fans and plane spotters, as well as employees.

"Peoples plane"

In 2016,  HB-JNA the first Boeing 777-300ER in the SWISS fleet was adorned with more than 2,500 employee portraits and dubbed the "Peoples Plane".

 

Alpine ascent

The first special livery in SWISS's history was given to the Avro RJ-100 HB-IYS in May 2006, depicting a traditional alpine ascent.

 

"Hopp Schwiiz"

The "Hopp Schwiiz" plane HB-IJM was dedicated to all SWISS fans for the European Football Championship in Switzerland in 2008.

 

"Flower Power"

For its inaugural flight to San Francisco in 2010, the HB-JMJ was "dressed up" in flower power fashion.

 

Avion de Suisse Romande

The first Airbus A220-300 in the SWISS fleet the HB-JCA was dedicated to French-speakting Switzerland in 2017. SWISS first asked people the following question: what does French-speaking Switzerland mean to you? The artist Mathias Forbach, alias Fichtre, was inspired to give a graphic interpretation of the multitude of proposals received in order to create a design in the colours of French-speaking Switzerland.

 

Fête des Vignerons

In 2019, HB-JCA received a special livery in honour of the Fête des Vignerons. The Fête des Vignerons is a traditional festival that takes place once a generation (about five times a century) in Vevey at the Lac Léman.
