Eric Locher: In the early hours of the morning, our travel group set off, boarded LX2151 from Zurich to Palma de Mallorca, and embarked on an unforgettable journey. Upon our arrival at the idyllic Workation Lounge at Port Adriano, we were greeted not only by modern infrastructure but also the opportunity to get to know each other. A spacious meeting room, a sun terrace, a stylish lounge with high tables, two secluded individual workstations, and numerous co-working spaces awaited us.
Naturally, this environment required a certain level of flexibility and consideration from us. However, in my opinion, that's what adds to the charm of a workation. Depending on the workspace and location, we adapted to the surroundings to create our ideal working atmosphere. And with a view of the azure sea or the majestic mountains, this adjustment was truly effortless. Apart from work, there was also plenty of room for collegial exchange. During shared lunches or aperitifs under shady palm trees, we relaxed and engaged in inspiring conversations. It was extremely enriching to step outside the familiar "business bubble" and explore various perspectives on different topics.
"Workation boosts motivation, enhances creativity, and reduces stress."
Participant of SWISS Workation Experience
Of course, the vacation part was not neglected either. Whether during lunch breaks or after a productive workday, a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear sea or the pool provided the perfect balance. Another highlight of the workation was undoubtedly the group dinner at Beso Beach. Here, we were not only treated to a wealth of Spanish delicacies but also had the opportunity to enjoy a magical summer evening with stimulating conversations, an experience we couldn't have had back home in Switzerland. After three unforgettable days, I returned home with mixed feelings – one eye crying, one eye laughing. What I take away from this workation are not only wonderful memories, sunshine, and increased creativity but also a sense of discipline and significantly less stress.
This experience has undoubtedly ignited my desire for workations – because where else can you work better than on a dreamy beach?
