Bid Upgrade
Bid Upgrade offers you the opportunity to decide for yourself on the price of your Upgrade to Business Class. You place a bid and find out up to 24 hours before departure whether you will receive the Bid Upgrade.
SWISS offers Bid Upgrade for all flights worldwide operated by SWISS. For legal reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to place a bid for tickets from India or on the following routes Zurich-Dublin and v.v., Zurich-Warsaw and v.v., Zurich-Stockholm and v.v. SWISS flights from and to Tel Aviv are excluded from upgrades to SWISS First Class. A fixed bid is possible for SWISS flights from and to Japan.
In order to place a bid with Bid Upgrade, you must have a valid and issued SWISS Economy ticket for flight operated by SWISS.
You can place your bid up to 48 hours before departure.
Yes, if you are holding a SWISS flight document (ticket number must start with 724…) on any of the eligible flights.
Exceptions are:
- Passengers travelling with children under 2 years of age.
- Passengers booked within a group of more than 9 people
- Flight bookings which are not yet confirmed
- Passengers travelling with animals (pet in cabin and/or animal in hold), extra seats (for comfort and/or medical reasons or cabin baggage (e.g. musical instrument)
- Passengers booked on flights ZRH-DUB, DUB-ZRH, ZRH-WAW, WAW-ZRH, ZRH-STO, STO-ZRH due to legal reason.

All flights booked that are eligible for Bid Upgrade will be displayed. You decide for yourself which flights to bid for.
The offer is free of charge. Only if you receive the upgrade, your credit card will be debited with the amount of your offer. Please note we still need your credit card details at the time of making your offer for standard verification purposes.

In case you change your flight and your offer has not yet been accepted by the airline, your bid will not be transferred to the new flight.
In the event SWISS changes your flight and your bid is not yet accepted by SWISS, your bid will not be transferred to the new flight.
If your offer has already been accepted by SWISS and your flight is changed or cancelled by SWISS, your offer may be transferred to the new flight subject to availability of seats. As your offer has already been accepted, you may no longer change your offer.
If SWISS is not able to rebook you, your offer will fully be refunded.
After your offer has been accepted, the upgrade amount is no longer refundable.
Your upgrade remains valid if you are re-booked to another SWISS flight subject to availability. Otherwise, we will refund the amount.
Up to 48 hours before departure you may cancel, modify your offer or re-offer.
Bid Upgrade takes all the passengers in a joint booking into account.
As long as you are not registered under one and the same booking number, you may submit your individual offer.
No. Miles & More payment is not possible for the Bid Upgrade.

Yes an Upgrade using miles/vouchers is still possible.
Yes an upgrade using award miles and/or vouchers is still possible but not guaranteed.
No. All conditions remain valid and unchanged.
For the upgraded segments the passenger has the baggage allowance as your original booked compartment. For details please see baggage allowance
