Delayed and cancelled flights at short notice
We do our utmost to get you to your destination punctually and reliably at all times. But sometimes there may be problems with air traffic, your departure gate may change, your flight may be delayed or even have to be cancelled.
Get help quickly if my flight is delayed or cancelled
If this happens, we will inform you about any flight changes by e-mail, text or via the SWISS app, and rebook you automatically as required. Please ensure that you have stored your current contact details in My bookings.
If you booked your flight ticket via a tour operator or travel agent, you can also contact them directly.
Rebooking at short notice
Was your flight cancelled at short notice? Use our Help Center to find out if you have already been rebooked, or you can select an alternative yourself and make the rebooking free of charge.
Quick help with refunding your ticket
Was your flight changed or cancelled? You can use our Help Center to arrange a refund for your ticket quickly and easily.
Baggage transfers if your flight is cancelled
We will handle your baggage transfer for you if you are rebooked. We will ensure your baggage is returned to you quickly if your flight is cancelled at short notice, and you are travelling onwards by train or bus. Please pay attention to the display screens and announcements for further information.
Passenger rights
You are entitled to specific rights as a passenger under EU Regulation 261/2004 if your flight is cancelled or subject to a long delay, or if you have been denied boarding on a flight for which you have a confirmed reservation.
Compensation if your flight is delayed or cancelled
You may be entitled to compensation if your flight is delayed or cancelled, or if your baggage arrives late.
Meal vouchers
You are entitled to a meal voucher if your flight is delayed by two hours or more, is cancelled or if you are denied boarding. The voucher is automatically linked to the QR code on your boarding pass for the flight concerned.
Assumption of costs for overnight hotel stays
In the event your departure is pushed back to the following day, we will take care of a hotel.
